My name is Wouter Klop. I make things. Some people would call this a “maker”. Some people argue that this is a hipster term, and that making things is of all times.
I’m drifting. This happens often, I typically don’t finish projects. This is ok: the fun is in the making.
I value making things, because technology is, in our society and in my opinion, taken too seriously. By taking a less serious view myself (when I don’t get paid), I aim to make creative, artsy things, with no other purpose than having fun. Both in the building, as well as when other people observe, or participate.
All my designs are open source. Of course. I’m not even going to explain.
I like the making to be not just a technical and creative thing, but also a social happening. Collaboration and exposure foster cross-pollination; it adds to creativity. This I do, for example, by involving friends and colleagues, by visiting maker events, and by exposing my work online. Hence this website.
